Downsizing Collection

After years and years of collecting radios I have finally run out of room, and that dreaded word "downsizing" has reared its ugly head. Not all my hundreds of prized possessions are for sale, but if you see something you must have please email for a complete description. Then you can decide what you want to pay for it. I will accept offers only. There are not going to be any lists, and nothing will be priced ahead of time. Shipping will be added to the selling price. Just click on the rectangular button called Collection and make up your wish list. Please remember that my usual For Sale list with descriptions and prices is still functional. Thanks for helping me make my wife happy.

RCA 120 Cathedral item #1522
Here is a restoration project for the expert. It is a rare RCA Model 120 cathedral. The cabinet is as pictured and is loose from the base (comes right off). It will need to be reglued. Overall it is not to bad (I've seen much worse) with some veneer chipping. The miracle is that the grille cloth is in very nice condition and not torn and the two escutcheons are intact. As for the chassis, there is some rust as you can see but it wipes off. I looked at the bottom and those old electrolytics need to be replaced but everything looks original including the cardboard box that houses the bypass condensors. The station dial indicator is intact not broken and the original speaker has survived without any damage to the cone (another miracle). Obviously nothing has been tested and is being sold as not working until a full electronic restoration can be performed. I will ship this in two separate boxes inside one larger box so I can fully protect the chassis/speaker and cabinet from any more damage (shipping should be about $25-30 East of the Mississippi and more West). If you need more pictures just ask and tell me what you want to see. If you want parts just ask.

Masters Art Tube Telephone Radio item #1521
Interesting novelty tube radio in a telephone case by Masters Art. Cabinet is solid wood and original finish looks fine. Chassis was recapped and radio works very well. Bells on top turn for on/off/volume (right side) and tuning (left side). Can be hung on wall. Original mouthpiece on front, ear piece on side, and hand crank on other side are in nice shape.

$45.00      condition: good

Amplifier from a Webster Chicago Model 210-1 item #1505
Amplifier from a Webster Chicago Model 210-1 reel to reel recorder. This is a quality built power transformer operated 5 tube amplifier (6X6, 6K6, 6SN7, 6SL7, 6SC7). Would make a nice vintage hifi system by adding a turntable. Untested but looks all original. Schematic available to help you restore the unit.

GE 419 item #1503
Very nice example of a GE Model 419 radio. Plastic case has been hand polished to a nice shine. No chips, cracks or scratches. Chassis was recapped and is playing fine. In fact this 4 tube radio has amazing sensitivity across the AM band. Original knobs (have that atomic look), and full label on bottom.

$35.00      condition: excellent

Ray O Vac AC/Battery Radio item #1497
Super rare (because I have only seen 1 other in 25+ years collecting) Ray O Vac AC/battery tube radio. Cabinet has some issues - small piece missing in gray area on top by on off volume control knob, small piece missing/crack on bottom, tight crack along top front side by tuning dial. These are all minor in my opinion but need to be mentioned. I was able to power up the radio but hum from electrolytic obscurred stations from coming in (simple fix). Chassis opens on a hinge from the bottom by releasing two little spring loaded knobs.Once the cabinet is cleaned and polished up and the radio working it will be a nice displayable and collectible radio.

Tel A Turn Professional Chassis Holder item #1493
Take a look at this as you probably have not seen one before. It is a Tel A Turn Universal Model A chassis holder from Rogers Manufacturing Company, Lindsey Ohio. It holds a TV or radio chassis in any position. You clamp the chassis in place to each adjustable side arm and then the large wheel on the right rotates the chassis 360 degrees. It has a built in work light but that is not all. There is also a speaker and a two socket outlet box with switch and red pilot light. It is rated at 125 V 10 amps so more then enough to handle any chassis. Look at the second picture and you will see it on my bench holding a Philco chassis. Makes working on electronic equipment a dream come true. Large base with lip keeps screws and small parts from rolling off your workbench. Overall condition very good but need cleaning. Shipping will be a flat $75 to anywhere in the continental USA. Payment by bank cashiers check only.

$750.00      condition: good

Brewster 9-1085 item #1484
Here is an unusual radio. It is a Brewster Model 9-1085 I believe. The case had a repaired crack and was then repainted but there looks like a hairline by the repair. Also a few scratches on the top. Needs some cleaning and polishing as well. I tried to power it up and was able to get a station but the voice was garbled so it needs new electrolytics (it may play very well after they are replaced). Knobs look original and original label taped to bottom. Very interesting radio to restore further.

$40.00      condition: good

Chassis - Philco 630B item #1473
Chassis from a Philco Model 630B tombstone. Rough condition. All tubes missing. Can-type electrolytics also removed. Some wires cut on top and on bottom. Shadow meter intact. Power transformer does not look like it ever overheated so it may still be good. Dial not broken but lettering faded on right side. If you want parts just let me know.

$25.00      condition: parts set

Weller Soldering Gun Kit item #1470
Weller Junior Model 8100K. Complete as shown in original box. Works fine. Dual illumination.

$20.00      condition: good

Cabinet - Emerson FL414 item #1466
Nicely detailed bakelite cabinet from an Emerson FL414. There was a crack along the bottom that I epoxied from the inside. You cannot see the crack unless the cabinet is turned upside down. No other major damage, just needs cleaning and polishing. Original plastic dial cover not cracked. 1942 vintage. This is the model that features a push button tone control on the front between the two knobs.
